DON'T MISS IT! This heartfelt musical follows a group of wonderfully unique and impassioned adolescents as they compete for the bee championship. Featuring a thrilling score by William Finn, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a joyful night of comedy and quirk that celebrates the pursuit of victory and the gift of being true to oneself.

We did it!

As we close out our 2024 Melody Miles fundraiser, we wanted to share a few fun facts:

This year we had 293 registrants, and of that, 100 were 12 years old or younger!

Our oldest runner was 77, and the youngest was 6!

We raised over $12,500 in sponsorships from 34 awesome local businesses, and when all is said and done we expect our net revenue to be around $16,500. That makes this our most profitable race to date, and we are thrilled to be able to give it back to the schools as we fund future grants!!!

In other news a BIG SHOUT OUT to Cutler Elementary School which had the biggest school team registered! In 2nd place was Winthrop, and Buker came in 3rd. We loved seeing representation from all of the schools and the HW Mother’s Club!

The Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts is excited to host the 28th Annual Melody Miles 5k fun run from Winthrop Elementary School, on Saturday, May 25th at 10 a.m. Our talented student performers look forward to serenading you as you walk, run, hop, skip, or dance your way along our scenic local race route. Our 5 mile race is also available as a virtual option during the holiday weekend. It is a great way for you to still support the arts AND get a coveted race t-shirt!

Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts invites you to support the arts in the HWRSD this season by purchasing a seat in the Margaret D. Ferrini Dramatics Center at HWRHS. You can be part of this extraordinary program by naming a seat for your family, honoring the memory of someone special, or commemorating a special event. Seats may be named in any of three designated sections, and prices range from $125 to $500.
